Holiday renting PPOR and insurance

    We are short term renting out our home for 6 weeks while we are on holidays. The property will be managed through an agent who is using AIrbnb and other online sites for advertising.

    Our home and content insurance has been with AAMI for years but they don't unsure for holiday rental.

    Any suggestion on insurers who can provide home and content for PPOR and also cover short term rentals when we need.

    There was also a company called LTM Risk Partners who had something interesting a year or so ago. They were offering cover for short term rentals that was an adjunct to an existing policy. It was at a daily rate. So you keep your existing policy, and then pay LTM per day for the period when it was on the short term market. I heard about this at an Airbnb meeting. I then heard that LTM had been bought by another insurer, so I'm not sure whether the product is still around.
