    Hey,

    Been lurking a while, I wanted to ask opinions of my current holding, but thought it might be polite to say hello first.

    I'm from and based in Perth and of course a FIFO kid for most of my career thus far. I've been one of the luckier few who thus far has managed to stay employed, the job I've got is looking pretty solid - but really who can tell!?

    I've got property I currently live in, located about 6km NE of Perth. I purchased this in 2012 with the intent for it to become an investment property. The zoning allows 2 dwellings on the block, but I haven't yet committed to the subdivision.

    My interest in investing is just so that I am not as reliant on a corporation or employer to make sure I have enough money to live, I'd like to one day build up that little rainy day fund - and if I do it well enough, maybe not FIFO anymore!

    Welcome to the forums :) If your swings allow it, keep an eye out for the Perth meet-ups, they're a good way to meet a few local investors.

    When is the next meet? The last one I attended was at the Bayswater Hotel a few years ago now

    We'll have to organise one - there was a Friday night one a couple of weeks ago that i didn't make, but also a couple of spontaneous lunches in the city that were good.

    I was just thinking how awfully familiar it feels to back in 2011-12.

    So what are your plans @Hazelnut_Flatwhite? looking at running numbers for splitting your block and trying to create some +ve or buy and hold another IP in Perth? Tell us your thoughts! :D
