Hi all, my name is Erwin. I was born in Indonesia with Chinese background. Migrated to Sydney in 98 after the riot incident. Our House and car was burnt and we were Chase down. Lucky we got permanent resident at the time. Just 29 years , I used to love cars, but now regret spending too much on something that depreciate. Investment journey start in the beginning of 2010. And now I have 4 IP in Sydney with no PPOR..
Well when I was 21-22, I graduated from university of Nsw. Start working full time. My parents forced me to save up for my first IP. When I turned 23, I have 5% deposit for a 2 bed apartment in hurstville, with the help of my parent, I was able to secure the property. Second Ip was acquired in 2013 in Wolli Creek. Third IP in 2014 in lane cove And in 2015 in Westmead Looking at 1 bed in marrickville next or a house in QLD
Gee wiz, you'll have a tough time grabbing a 1 bedder in Marrickville. The are extremely tightly held, AND stock levels are incredibly low. There has been somewhere between 1-3 x 1 bedders on the market for the last few months–no more. For an established one, you'll be looking at $500k, give or take. If you are comfortable that that kind of buy fits your strategy I can put the feelers out–I know a bunch of agents in the area who are happy to let me know of stuff before it hits the market as I helped find IPs for a handful of friends over the last couple of years. You'll want to line up your–finance in place and a great solicitor. Be ready to throw a strong unconditional offer at it if you want the best chance of success.
Thanks all You're right Steve... heheheh I know if I decided to go down that path... I will be paying premium. At the moment is more likely im going trhough BA and get one in Brisbane or SA
NIce work there. What sort of assistance did your parents provide you? I'm just wondering about the pro's and con's of parents lending cash for deposit vs parents being a guarantor.
Nope will be moving out renting with my partner. Renting is alot cheaper, and i like having no liability
Well done Erwin, you have achieved so much in a relatively short amount of time, very inspirational, keep up the good work.
