    My cousins went to school in the US more than 20 years ago and yes they had to go through metal detectors to get on the premises. That was in LA...

    Your one relative, one school experience is not representative of the USA.... please read link in @geoffw post above....

    BTW, I have lived there, my own child attended 3 schools, my nieces/nephews go to school there, most of our US friends have school age kids in various US states....and you know how many of them had/have metal detectors at school.... once again, read the link above.

    Generally guns don’t kill people. It’s the bullets coming out of the guns that kill people.

    There are some amazing young students from the school who have made passionate, intelligent, articulate and politically savvy speeches, telling kids to enrol to vote as soon as they are eligible and if their representatives won’t implement gun control then vote them out. I
    hope it’s the beginning of the changes needed over there.
