i'd like as much info as possible relating to trying to get plans for something that might be difficult to approve
and perhaps employing a town planner specialising in your council to try to get those plans approved

i really dont know anything of the costs involved, time, frames, difficulties,

but i'd like all the hints possible please.

i'd also like hints of how to get a good outcome but using perhaps cheaper materials or designs or ways to save money on the process and building.
who would be expert at that please as i'm inexperienced
    Thank you.

What suburb are you looking at? I think that will be helpful for those who have good contacts in that area.

How non compliant is the design?
Can it be done under CDC?
There are always cheaper construction alternatives but it depends on the design and certain regs, for example fire rating, acoustic treatment etc
