    Hi all
We moved less then weeks ago and the damage in the pic wasn’t there, could this be termite damage? The pest report came fine but we still worried. What you thing this might be ?

    Thanks in advance

Not advice, but that is from impact as it's inbetween studs and the wall frame ,termites white-ants don't work that way they just track up the frame eating everything that's un-treated pine ect..Look like the size of someone's head or a large boot..imho..

It's hard to say without a close up inspection but that looks like something has hit the wall and then painted over. I doubt that's termite damage.

Put your ear to the wall, if you hear the Sea, then the external cladding has been ripped off in a cyclone (provided your near the beach). If you hear munching or movement it's possibly termites, if you hear nothing it's probably furniture damage - patch, fill and paint.

Thank you all. The owner we bought from wasn’t honest with us and after she moved we found so much damage was covered by her own stuff, but this was shared with shower could this be moisture damage?

    Thank you

    simple test for Mites

take the bottom of your fist, and give the gyprock a decent whack in a few places

If you hear stuff falling down, that probs termite mud

But that looks like simple to fix plaster board damage

Don't think that's termites. I've seen some similar damage in Mt Druitt houso estate where an iron has been flung across a room (luckily it missed me).

We used to hear a neighbour in a terraced house who used to throw plates at her husband. She used to get more upset because he was pretty good at dodging

Yes we did and came with tear and wear but most of the damage the lady we bought from covered every single damage when we first inspected and at time of settlement however the damage in pic wasn’t there until today afternoon we realised .

It would be easier for people to help if they understood what you are saying.

Looks like plaster damage. With a termite damage situation I'd expect it to look flattish but a bit paltry in that area. Place a finger gently on it and if it feels like it could disintegrate under the weight of your finger then maybe termite or water damage. But it's probably not in a location where there are water pipes behind the wall. Also the skirting boards look fine and I'd expect termites would have a munch on those first before making their way upwards.

Thank you , yes when I push it it feels so soft and empty and the around area is the same soft and easily to push not like the wall bit above the damage so solid and hard to push, my husband thought the same because the wall is shared with bathroom and the shower just behind that wall.
