    Hi!
I am looking for advice on what I can do with my bathroom.
We removed the corner spa bath, since it cracked down the middle. While removing it we discovered that the slab had been cut out in order to sink the bath in.
We purchased another corner tub, but we're unable to fit it through the door. It would only be possible if we were to have the bath cut in half then fitted. But we doubt the structural integrity of it once that is done.
We're wondering if anyone knows anything about cementing down the floor and tiling it?. Who do we contact?. Is it even possible without having to rip apart the entire bathroom?.

Can you not fit it tipped up? Surely it cannot be deeper that the width of the bathroom door?

    PS. Welcome to the forum.

We've tried all sorts of angles. It just won't go in. It is a couple of inches wider than the door. We seem to think the bath was lowered in before the roof was put on. It's absurd.

No, it is a steel frame fully cemented in.

How wide is the door? You may have to return the bath and buy a new one. For example (not saying you should buy this one) this bath is 480mm deep. I have not seen any doors less than 480mm.

    1295 x 1295 x 480 mm Angelique Bath Tub

I would return the one you have an look at options

    1. the original might have gone in through the window (or ceiling as you say)
    2. do you still want a corner bath?
Yes - find one that is shallow enough to fit through your door way
No - consider normal bath or removing and converting to a shower if it was a shower over the bath.

Any builder could assist with putting a new concrete floor with plumbing in.

Could you cut just an edge of the bath rather than in half?

The plumber maybe put the tub in when the building was in the frame stage, the only way would be pull the door off ,put a grinder into the top section then jack--hammer one side of the frame out..Or the simple way is just take the tub back and buy one that fits through the door and entry points ..imho..

Or dismantle another wall (and then reframe it)? Best talk to a builder about the best solution. Maybe just a smaller bath?

    Q. OP, I'd like to know, was the original bath taken out of the bathroom in 1 whole piece or in 2 halves?
