Hello, from Hodge

Hi, my name is Hodge and I am 30 years old from Melbourne. Fairly boring person and not too interesting. I joined SS by accident in 2013 and became hooked instantly. I try to contribute where I can but mainly leave the technical stuff to the experts.

I started property investing 5 years ago and have purchased 1 property every year and somehow have a $2.6m property portfolio. (Helps to have a switched on broker). Hope to purchase another this year if APPRA lets me.

Good to see the familiar names from SS have joined up. I wouldn't have what I have without you guys so thank you.

What area's have you brought your IPs in?

 

Hi coota,

They are in Melbourne west, in the hobsons bay area. I've mainly purchased development blocks (old house with massive backyard) with the view that one day will develop them.

I've renovated them to increase rental yield and value.

It's a strategy that's worked for me so far but for those going down this route land tax is a killer!

 

Great work Hodge,have learnt that every investor goes about it slightly differently which doesn't make it right or wrong.
2.6m portfolio at 30 I would say it's working for you so far!!

 

Thanks coota, everything i have is due to ss (now property chat ) and a great broker. Biggest thing I've learnt is never approach the bank yourself and read read read!
