Have just joined property chat, seems like a great place to learn from alot of knowlegable people. I grow vegetable seed for a Dutch company and no sorry no free samples. I'm early 50's and my wife and I are starting our property investing journey pretty late though better late than never right. We purchased 2 regional properties last year (Vic & NSW) to get us going both neutral to slightly positive but will have a better idea after this tax year. Have been doing a property mentorship the past 18mths and though expensive we have the money has been worth it as we have learnt so much and wouldn't have 2 places by now if we hadn't. We are now after are 3rd and are looking at Gold Coast suburbs on the rail link to BNE and also around Bald Hills to the North of BNE. Our budget is $450k and will go through a buyers agent for this one just because of logistics and local knowledge. Have spoken to 2 agents up there one in BNE and one in Goldie both seems really good just to decide in which area. Anyone with any thoughts on these areas would be much appreciated. Hi @Matt64 Are you planning to buy in your own name(s) or other structure such as SMSF ? The different taxation rates come retirement day are worth a little pondering.
