    Welcome to PC.

    Did you buy in Wynnum?

May this be the first of many IPs.

We have an IP in Wynnum West, a 4/2/2 house that we bought in 2004 for $317,000. It has always been easy to rent, most times with good, long-term tenants. Probably worth $600K to $650K today.

Late last year we helped a family member (currently based in USA) buy a 2/1/1 house in the same suburb but in an area that used to be the lower socio-economic area in years gone by. The re-gentrification of this area is amazing. He is returning to Brisbane in the next few months and will make this one his PPOR. I believe he will do well.

Yep, we like that part of Brisbane as well.

I love it! New cinema, lots of gentrification, wage growth. Manly is an excellent school and there are a lot of private schools too. The land prices are crazy here. Our ppor has ocean views /bay views and is going up well. The differential between ascot and manly land prices is odd. Ascot can have $500k land under a $3 mill property. Manly can be up at $1070000! It’s weird. I went to a council planners evening and everyone of the planners either had or was moving to Wynnum manly. Maybe they know something we don’t!

Wynnum west has so many parks. There are more parks in we than in Holland park. Bit of social housing. Hopefully as that ages they will liquidate it and move closer to the city.

Yes there are some seriously affluent small pockets in both Holland Park and Manly, and they don't have to worry about the power bills and the mortgage as a very high percent in both those blue chip's are owned out-right..welcome to the site and i hope you do well as some of those blocks in Holland Park went up over 100 plus k last year just going by the rate--able Ucv's from the BCC..

Thanks so much. We have our eye on two things to do next: a small cheap house in blue chip inner city and a house on the Sunshine Coast. Hopefully the market will be kind! We only have two currently the ppor in Wynnum and the investment in manly.
