Hi everyone, I’m in my early thirties and I’ve been enjoying the threads on SS/PC for 4 y now. I finally decided to start an account and this is my first post. I'm a teaching and research academic in science and am interested in getting my feet wet in property investing. At the moment I'm a bit overwhelmed at all the choices. I’ve started reading Margaret Lomas books and reading this site more and more (thanks everyone!) to learn as much as I can so I will hopefully have a positive experience with property investing. I’m just starting to look in earnest so any suggestions about areas to help narrow the search are certainly welcome! I’m looking to invest around 300 k or so and would like an IP with good growth prospects and near cash flow positive (if such a thing exists!).
Gday @Cinch , that's a really good start! Do you have $300k for deposits or are you after an IP at $300k value?
Thank you! We do have $300k for deposits from the equity in our PPOR, but I'm after an IP for $300k value. I don't want to start too aggressively because I'm inexperienced with IPs.
