hi all, hope all is well at your end. bit about us: i bought my first home in 2011 (was single) and have been investing in property for 5 years. got married - mrs and i started rent-vesting in 2014 and bought another 3 properties over 2014-2016. given all the bad news about the property market, we sold 3 properties: 1 in apr 2018 2 and 3 in dec 2018 so we can buy our PPOR end of this year or maybe next year. not sure if we did the right thing but here we are. hope to hear from you
Sounds good meh and welcome aboard the SS Property Chat. Petty Chief Officer datto about to get stuck into the pusser's. lol.
welcome to the forum @mehrar_84 not a bad timing to reduce debts, and a good time to upgrade PPOR as well. once all done, then restart investing.
If you made money and locked in some capital gain, then that's the name of the game. What will you do next (other than buying ppor)? The Y-man
yes locked in some profits. been reading a lot of forums and there are plenty of investment opportunities: - US investing - Index/ Managed funds - LIC etc. lot of smart people here. i just got lucky i guess. I have few ideas on how to move forward: a.) invest in fixed deposit approx 8% return pa overseas to create a passive income so i can work on business idea & mrs continues with her part time job. a.) buy ppor but then will have to continue with job to pay off loan Any suggestions?
Watch the exchange rates unless you are earning and spending in the country concerned (let alone tax implications). The Y-man
Be good to your Mother. How much money was trashed in sales commissions, loan discharges, and CGT on the sales of your 3 IP's? (you likely won't have even paid CGT bill yet). Are the properties worth more or less now since sale? Welcome to the forum
Thanks and love to Mum and Dad always buddy. yeah i know lot of money spent on commissions, cgt etc. You gotta spend money to make money or its all paper gain. i remember time when their was property boom back home. properties went 12-15 folds. in 3 years and then drop of 40-50%. i live for today.
