What are peoples thoughts on the hawkesbury region as long term investment? I think in time that whole area along the train line from Schofields to Richmond will be all developed.

The established business and industry are there - at Windsor/Richmond... along with it public transport, trains and other infrastructure. It's a matter of time before they creep down into integrating with the rest of north-west Sydney.

At the moment new estates in say Box Hill, are offering 300 sqm land sizes in which to build houses on. Meanwhile, neighbouring Nelson are still offering acreage blocks. It's a pretty big dichotomy for places within 1-2 minutes of each other, and currently having access to much the same stuff in terms of shops and schools and travel - either to the greater metro area or the current satellite towns of Windsor or Richmond.

Marsden Park and Schofields are very likely to get metro stations connecting St Mary to Rouse Hill sooner than them duplicating the Richmond line train tracks past Schofields. No word on when they will actually do it since 2011, which is a shame given the population growth in Riverstone.

Many parts of Hawkesbury region have flood risks. Something to consider.
