Hope you bounce back quickly ... weekend tomorrow - east coast weather supposed to be feral - stay in bed and rest up

Sounds better than getting the flu - and a lot better than getting Covid. Many a year I'd have "colds" but only once have ever had the full on proper Flu - OMG - 10 years ago and still remember it vividly - a week spent literally crawling between bed and the bathroom - between burning up while lying on cold tiles to shivering under boiling water - eventually made it to the docs with the simple request of "kill me"

Yes, hope the same for any who get nasty, but usually temporary, side effects.

I want a time machine so I can bring forward dose 2 +14 to today instead of waiting 27 days.

Yes, I can recall two cases of the flu I've had - one during my first year at uni, where I felt like I was going to die.

The second was when I returned from a work trip to India - I was really crook for about a week.

Just to add to to the sharing:

My 85yo father had his 2nd AZ this week, at 8 weeks after the first (he brought it forward from the original 12 week appointment). The first dose made him quite unwell for about 24 hours, then back to normal; the second dose had no side effects. Good on him.

I've had full Pfizer, mid May & Early June.

This morning I had a serum and swab test, as required for travel to China. Got a call tonight from SA Health following up on the serum test results as apparently I've have a very strong immune response for COVID. They wanted to know if I'd been vaccinated (or infected). They also wanted to know the batch number of the vaccine - must have been the good stuff!

So that's and big GO TEAM for the Pfizer and AZ vaccinations from me and my old Dad.

Treat it like a hangover - water, sleep, panadol and take it easy for a day or two

Had AZ in May and June, lucky no side effects so far and serum levels look good but will retest again soon to make sure as I had the jabs pretty close together and well under the advised age bracket.

I got the AZ 2 months ago….. waiting waiting waiting for the second dose. 4 weeks to go! The first night I got mild belly cramps and I farted A LOT (or maybe that was the bean burrito I ate before hand???). Anyway, next day I woke up with headache, achy muscles, fatigued and foggy brain but it was nothing that a dose of Panadol didn’t fix within an hour. Sore arm persisted for a week. Second dose of AZ is supposed to be (almost) side effect free.

I got AZ before people in my age group got "banned" from having it. I was told beforehand to really relax my arm before the injection. I had no side effects at all except for feeling a bit tired the afternoon of the day after. It is very normal for me to feel tired in the afternoon, so I have no proof it was a side effect.

Pro tip, relax your arm :)

This is true for any injection or blood test - don't tense you arm!

Daughter (40s) had her second Pfizer last week. Absolutely no side effects.
Her husband had his second Pfizer yesterday - sore arm and headache so far.

I had my second AZ jab early evening. Three hours later I feel no symptoms except if I touch my arm it is slightly tender.

I hope this continues tomorrow and I don’t feel mildly “off” the next day, like I did after the first dose.

Hubby had his second shot a few weeks back and also had no symptoms.

We filled out a questionnaire on our mobiles so it was super efficient at the suburban medical clinic.

Second AZ yesterday, no after effects. Like Wylie I felt mildly 'off' on the morning after my first jab.

On my first AZ had chills at night. But initially I thought it was the cold weather (Brissie dropped to 8C that night) and I usually have all windows open and just a throw on me. Later released it’s the jab. Chills would come and go. Woke up perfectly fine. Went to work and was fine (other than having 2 coffees. I usually stop at 1 coffee but felt the need for a kick).

On second. Nothing. Almost suspected the nurse missed my arm.
