Just my feedback but this new thing where theres nothing in general is terrible.
I dont have time to look through the mass of subforums.
I would always have a look in general. See whats going on and what everyones discussing at the time.
Now i find myself just going off the forum as its to akward to find what people are chatting about.
    It was fine before.
People post in general so everyone sees it. We have a chat. And then once topic has gone cold it gets filed away in the sub forums. Easy....

    Just my 2cents.

Just click the "New Posts" link, this is the only way i navigate other than when I search for a particular topic

I use recent posts as default - sees what's being talked about plus any old topics being discussed - ie the 430 pages about the coming Brisbane Boom!

I just use recent posts too.
Does not matter which category the topic is listed under, it's all there

New Posts shows all threads which have been updated since you last read them.

Recent Posts shows all threads which have been updated in the past 24 hours.

Most of the posts on the forum never went into General and so you were missing out on most of the discussion by only looking there anyway.

In the next version of the forum software, these functions have been made easier to find/use.

By default, New posts always appears as the first submenu option.

There is also a New posts button at the top right of the forum home page to make it even easier.

That Post thread button lets you start a new thread from anywhere - it pops up a window with a list of topics to choose from.

You would have missed most of the threads I started since I generally put them in the relevant subforums...

The converse is that people who wanted a particular topic either missed threads on that topic in General Property Chat, or would have to go wading through the many posts in GPC just to find a few that they were looking for.

The majority of threads in GPC easily fitted into a forum. It made sense to bring like posts together.

I explained my reasoning about why it's important to move threads into topics in this thread: Howto - Where to post

There's also another discussion here: Open - Moving threads

    That didn't take long :D.

I find it so much easier just using "new posts" than searching in different areas.

So you spent a lot of time rereading all the old posts?

This is great but I like to read all the oldest posts.

Can we have an "Old Posts" or "Unpopular Posts" link? :p:p
