Has anyone else become a "free" buyers agent?

    Having spent the last few years shopping I've got my process down pat and all the contacts to get stuff through quickly. In the last 18 months I've found and helped friends and family purchase 4 properties, and now I've got another 2 requests in the pipeline. I even posted one of the bargains I found here and it ended up generating a ton of discussion. I do this free of charge just to help out, I really enjoy the thrill of the hunt. When a bargain pops up I'm on the phone immediately. I get a real buzz out of helping. Has anyone else found themselves doing this for close friends and family? I'd never see myself doing this professionally, it's just a hobby at best.

    Nope, not at all. I use the term "buyers agent" very loosely.


    EDIT: haha I just realised I wrote "free" when I should have written "buyers agent".

    Yes I help all clients with new purchases all the time. Buyers agent, property inspector, valuer lol.
    .... and - yes I'm licensed but don't charge to help people out.
