Has an insurer ever refused to insure/renew the policy on a property in a high risk bushfire area?

    Hi,

For some reason, most of the contemporary houses that I like - and can afford! - happen to be in high risk bushfire zone.

I vaguely recall I read somewhere that, after a certain Cyclone and ensuing flooding, some insurers refused to renew policies on some flooded properties for being "unacceptable risk".

I wonder if it has ever happened in relation to properties in bushfire prone areas.

    Thanks

Been living in bushfire zone areas for years and never have had any problems to get insurance
