Went to Crown Promenade Melbourne last night and it was even more packed than the western New Year's Eve,it was shoulder to shoulder.

It's not only the Chinese that celebrate Lunar calendar new year.

Vietnamese and Koreans celebrate it too. It's five days of straight holiday in Korea. I wish I were there.

I feel sorry for any lion dancers today. It's 4pm and 38 degrees and going to be 40+ for most of the week.

    Happy CNY all who celebrates!

I went to Eastwood to pick up my gadgets around 4.45pm today. A family of 4 walking closely behind me and I heard the mom said to her hubby and 2 boys: "Hmm... it's fairly quiete around here. I wonder where are all the people" (I think they're expecting lion dance, street food, fire crackers etc).

In my mind, I had a different expectation. It's in Sydney/Aus, the chinese is damn hard working and they will go to work on the new year day (imagine Xmas day). So they will all be getting ready and head out for dinner. I know one family owned chinese restaurant used to open 364 days except the one day on CNY, but this year, they will open 365 days!!!

Doesn't seem to be a lot happening around Brisbane for CNY, but all good from this dragon.
