Now only to return citizenship to Neil Prakash, sure you might not like him but no one should be left stateless and he should be tried under our laws

He will be tried under our laws, after any legal proceedings, and possible jail term, are played out in Turkey, as is their right.

If he is in fact stateless, then the revoking his Australian citizenship is illegal. Australia says that he is eligible for Fijian citizenship, Fiji denies it.

I'm not sure the implications of statelessness to somebody who is likely to be in prison for a long time

I would think this means he will remain in Turkey for the rest of his life, close to the venerable but hopefully soon destroyed mates. People like him brought their vile ideas to countries that lived in religious harmony for centuries.

Regardless of what he's done he's still entitled to the due process of law, and the punishment according to law if found guilty.

He's currently being tried under one country's laws, and will be also tried here once the process has been finished there.

I'd be worried about punishment (like revoking citizenship) being invoked without the due process. While the evidence may be strong, the process is not public and he has been denied the right to defend himself.

Once a government denies rights to some, it's in a stronger position to deny the rights of others in the future, where the case may not be as strong.

    ERR NO, NEVER.

sorry but this 2 case is so different.

Hakeen is a footballer, who is caught in a cross fire between 2 islamic sect. he did no wrong apart from speaking out (hello human rights !) , and there is video evidence that he is innocent.

That other guy is a TERRORIST. also he was caught in turkey, so turkey gets first dips, then he comes to australia and face punishment.. rot in hell for all i care.. oh yes he was and probably still is plotting to massacre people in melbourne..

It is endlessly amusing to see how some people are black and white about the law, until it doesn't suit them.
