Ok, you could say you would be banned from borrowing, being banned from libraries suggests some sort of risque behaviour ;)

I stopped lendng out my books long time ago becasue as you said they get ruined, or worse, never returend. If somone really, really wants to borrow a book now i tell them stright up you have 1 week to read it and i want it back in the exact same condition otherwise i'll be very upset. I set the tone right from the begning. But mostly i dont lend anymore. They're like my babies..:D

@MTR & @Leo2413 is that book applicable to Australia property investing economy or it is just a general US based investment story or opinion from the author ?

I used to be precious about my books like that. Now, I don't mind what condition they are in as long as they're readable.

Proof (one of my book shelves):

I'm trying to work out your sorting order - Sagan looks in alpha, but maybe it's just roughly from tall to short back to tall?

I have a lot of guests and encourage them to grab something to read so my book shelf is self-organising in no particular order. Does seem to have a bit of a tall-short-tall thing going on in that though.

Most commonly grabbed book by a MILE is Sam Harris's "Free Will".

It's much easier to find books on my phone :)
