Its weird how many people don't know about this classic, but we are spreading the word. Now I am showing my age...

Maybe not the 'best' but I like Croc Dundee, Gallipoli and Romper Stomper.

    What about Bad Boy Bubby.

There's a scene where the main character has it off with his mother lol. Can you believe it?

We were in NY recently tour guide realised we were Aussies, first thing he asked was whether we had seen The Castle, he was a retired lawyer.
He loved the David and Goliath story.... Lawyer in The Castle reminds me of Saul..... series "better call Saul" another gem, but US of course.

Loved many of those suggested above,
But this thread makes me think back some years now to what I enjoyed way back when I was a tad younger.
Not sure if you classify them as classics though (doubt it), but it was a different time & I was a different age.

    Breaker Morant......

    The Chant Of Jimmy Blacksmith......

    Mad Max.....

    Dogs in Space......

    Dead Calm.....

No mention of BMX Bandits in an Aussie classics list?!!

And Wolf Creek of course... told an Indian friend who was planning an outback trip with his family to watch it as it’s a doco about outback travel. He wasn’t impressed :D
