I m looking for a good builder to build a granny flat in Beinleigh or Strathpine

If you have built a Granny flat recently in Brisbane. Please give me some advice.

How do you avoid dodgy builders? ( Who did you pick and why?)
what is the roughly cost ?
how long it would take to build a granny flat in Brisbane?

This is my first time try to build granny flat so any advice or suggestions are greatly appreciated.

My buyers agent quoted $115k fully finished from a trusted builder. I was looking to do this further down the track in Strathpine once Petrie Uni is up and running. Be interested to see how you go.

@propertylad is this including permissions, drawing up plans etc? What's your land size? The vacancy rates in Logan don't look good right now to be investing in granny flats.

Yes including everything. He has a good relationship with a very large builder so fairly confident. I'll get details next time I talk to him. Land is 612sqm in Strathpine. Wouldn't touch Logan personally but around the new Uni in Petrie I'm sure demand will be strong.

Just checked, vacancy rate for Strathpine is sitting at 2.3%, which is not bad. Stock on market is also trending downwards nicely.
Thanks for the info, let us know how you go.
