    I have a client who is interested in building a granny flat on the Gold Coast. Can anyone recommend someone who does this?

    I just got my plans from the builder for 1 in Sydney.

    What are the rules in terms of letting out in GC? is it family only or any one with a rental?

    Not sure of the rules on the GC as I haven't done it. I remember hearing that anyone could rent, but some councils had higher application costs when not family living it but being rented. Am checking with my granny flat contact and will let you know.

    The only authority I would be checking with is the council itself.
    That way you can be sure you are getting the actual information, not someone else’s version of it.

    Having checked with my contact, there are QLD state rules and there are local council rules. Best to contact Gold Coast City Council.

    In QLD it is council by council, hence why BCC is different to Logan/Moreton Bay/Ipswich etc.
