Big Ted and Play School never really did it for me: I was more a Hogan's Heroes girl. Last night I settled for Jewish divorces on Compass and the internet and later a bit of Escape to Provence on the Continent, in Francais. Grand Designs wasn't on last night.

Tonight I could settle down for Grand Designs. It still isn't on tonight either, and I am about to have a meltdown.

I'm about to build a fire pit in my backyard. I haven't checked with council whether they approve. Does anybody take any notice of Council these days regarding what they do in their backyards?

As someone contemplating building, grand designs is an incredibly evil show.

Then watch the house that 100k built. I love that show and they build on a budget ;)

That was my favourite show in between Grand Designs seasons. Anyways I have checked about fire pits and Moreton Bay Council have nothing to say. Qld Govt has no problem either as far as I can tell. I'm not going to search any further in case I discover something contrary to what I already discovered.

I'm happy now, I just found some psychology show on SBS. It confirms everything I already knew working with troubled kids. Boring.......

I hope it is better than Grand Designs Australia. I didn't love that one.

I'm sure council would appreciate an invite for a few beers around the fire, I'd imagine friends are scarce :)

Lizzie ... did you watch the first of the Grand Designs NZ this week? I enjoyed it, interesting watching a Milk Shed Builder building a concrete house. I liked the end result. But boy was it a cold location!!!!!

I stopped watching partway through, as I needed to concentrate on booking some flights.

I'll watch it on iview now. I stopped watching last night just after the bit where the owner had chopped off some of the design. Not sure about using a guy who mostly does cowsheds, but I guess they know how to use concrete.
