Looking to buy our first interstate ip. We lucked out 2 weeks ago at auction, bidding via telephone also our first time and it was done on a Sunday (never been to a auction on Sunday before). Hopefully we'll secure one early in the new year, but first things first, we are heading off on a 14 night cruise next week. :)

It's great to work with people that have the same mindset as you. It gives you the motivation to get to your goals quicker. @Darren looking forward to discussing them with you in 2107:)

Commence our debt recycling strategy in February - with share investments to flip our bad debt to good debt
Get a pay rise at work
Put $1K away for my two daughters into a growth bond and contribute $100 p/month - 10 year outlook on this
Put an extra $6K into our offset buffer account by year end
Start tracking our spending habits with the view to saving 10% of our costs on non essential items
(could be more once we gain a better understanding of where the spending's are going)
Be in a position by years end where we can upgrade our PPOR

    Personal

    Overseas holiday
Drop my golf handicap from 6 to 5 and maintain this by years end
Loose 20 kg's and maintain my weight loss

oh, man, you make me feel I am wasting my life.

"--try to be less socially awkward with new people and just more social in general", I am sure most of us have felt some level of awkwardness one way or the other at some occasions. I feel quite uncomfortable at these large corporate functions, have to speak to and blend with people who I never heard of. But a good way to force oneself move out of comfort zone I guess.

come to the next meet up, you and me can have an awkwardness race, I could win you over. :)

We're both working towards our dreams with our own plans - definitely no wasting of life for either of us mate ;)

Thanks for the tips and encouragement @Eric Wu . When I'm not buying deals/negotiating/PM'ing/networking etc, I am actually shy and quiet in nature. I am the introverted one you'll see in the corner at a party looking out the window at the view. But i'm working on it. I like the awkwardness race challenge! Your on mate :) I will really try to make a meetup next year.

Is your 2018 goal to recover from the mental breakdown caused by all your 2017 goals?

    My goals:
    Finish my house.
    Put on 8kg.
Finish writing the really boring book Im working on.
Get better at ping pong so I can beat the people at work and laugh in their loser faces.

I'm in a similar situation with 2 exactly the same age. At least I am able to sleep through the night now, most nights anyways.

Planning to get an acreage PPOR this year with a fenced up section so I can let the kids "out to pasture" ;D

Dang have to go clean up that toilet training accident now.

I really don't know how I'll be mentally and physically on 2018 but time has a funny way of showing me.

You wanna put on 8kg? It's not often you hear that one! Must be all the hard work on your place you've lost weight.. Btw been following your house thread and its really inspiring. What' s your book about?

Yeah you'll need a lazy year after the 2017 you have planned.

Thanks for the nice words about the house thread. I'm starting to push myself into gear again to try and get more work done.

Lol the book is super boring. The psychological biases and detriments that lead to superstitious beliefs. The first chapter is literally about statistics. Only writing it for my own amusement :p
