She may end up moving to Melbourne shortly, and I agree with you.
She does not have a problem meeting guys, she has already met someone here, its just about meeting the right one. I think she should just have a great time, she is only 25

What does the expression catfished mean?

No. She dumped the 7 year relationship guy, hooked up with this new dude, he told her everything she wanted to hear to get what he wanted, then after she left, BADDA BING! Gone!

    Smart guy.

Catfished means someone that pretends to be someone they're not online to meet people.

For instance, a woman may post pictures of herself from say, five years ago when she was attractive, then when you meet her... BAM! She's fat.

    That's getting catfished.

There is a tv show about it. Catfish: The TV Show - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

"They used to tank cod from Alaska all the way to China. They'd keep them in vats in the ship. By the time the codfish reached China, the flesh was mush and tasteless. So this guy came up with the idea that if you put these cods in these big vats, put some catfish in with them and the catfish will keep the cod agile. And there are those people who are catfish in life. And they keep you on your toes. They keep you guessing, they keep you thinking, they keep you fresh. And I thank God for the catfish because we would be ... boring and dull if we didn't have somebody nipping at our fin." —from Catfish

Why the term "catfish" is used to describe people who portray someone else online

never heard of these terms ever,

I would have thought ghosted meant something that happens in an amusement park

as for ghosting, you should try online dating, the women do that day in day out, its like a bodily function

I'm on another forum where annoying members get ghosted. The mod ghosts their profile so they can still post but no one can see them. One prolific nob was ghosted for over a year making over one thousand posts and didn't know it. Just kept posting and no one could see it.

Ex-2IC Crown Prosecutor lives nearby. He said that he was married to the job so ended up single even now that he's retired.

Bran, are you saying you know several criminal lawyers, several poor lawyers, several poor criminal lawyers, or several criminal poor lawyers?

I find this both ambiguous and quite disturbing at the same time, particularly when the ABC is about to air a new series of Rake. which in itself is a neon sign warning of due diligence for the average person's hire of the legal fraternity.

One hopes that none of the lawyers you know, as described above, and assuming the descriptions indulge in some truthfulness, are (allegedly) involved in the property space...

Of course, if not, I'm sure they are lovely people...

I know several poor* lawyers. I also know several people who stopped being lawyers very early in their careers to do something else. I don't know any lawyers that are criminals in any way.

    *poor = not rich

PS. I'm a little confused by your post. I don't know any property lawyers except the ones I professionally engage.

I haven’t met any *poor lawyers, only those early in their careers. Even then, they're handsomely paid (compared to the checkout chick or cleaner who comes in once a week to do your house).

My comment was "tongue in cheek"

They are not all on amazing salaries to start with and also dependent on the area they specialise will determine salary?? So I have been told.

My neice was a lawyer for one of the highflying larger companies she was leaving work at 3.00 am in the morning and ended up throwing it in.

Still working as a lawyer but with a smaller company, less stress. Now her husband who is an instrument electrician, is on a higher salary. Perceptions are not always correct.

    The guy probably died.

And now his actual ghost is up there ... or down there, looking up... or down at the world thinking "why oh why does she think I didn't love her. Only death could separate us".
