    The price differentials between areas certainly make more sense with this information! Thanks.

    Geez Corio and Norlane look like a bit of a mess - Still really good value if you got in and bought a house there with a 2 in front of it.

    I cant comment on the socioeconomics but a couple of Corio IPs I bought early 2017 have done really well. Got CBA desky done this week and this what it is:

    290K--> 480K
    270-->440K
    Same tenants, always paying rent on time, kept the property neat and tight and its positively geared now. Happy investor me :)

    Geelong is nuts now! Everything is flying off the shelves.

    For example Armstrong Creek has some sales in there for over $1.2m. Wow!

    Everyone talks about Sydney and Brisbane...but places like Geelong and Newcastle on % basis have grown more.

    Quiet thread! Thanks for posting NWHT.

    Has anyone heard anything about the ongoing redevelopment of the former ford factory? Information seems very limited from mid/late 2020 onwards. Would appreciate any insight if anyone has an idea of its current status.

    How much impact would the 2026 Commonwealth games have on places like Geelong? Lots of games being held there

    Was wondering myself when this got announced this week. Accoding to geelongtimes (albeit, pretty biased source :p) -> 2026 Commonwealth Games will contribute more than $3 billion to the state’s economy, creating almost 600 full-time equivalent jobs before the Games, 3,900 during the Games and a further 3,000 beyond the Closing Ceremony. Increased infrastructure spend to support the event aswell.

    Any thoughts of taking the profit and running or happy to hold.

    Do you see any future growth at those prices or think it’s topped out but happy to just have a new property to rent out with (hopefully) no dramas and maintenance to worry about?

    I believe this was the house you showed me in yesterday's meet up? Good looking house and hopefully eliminates any phone calls/ emails about any maintenance issues.
