Property #1 had the gas meters relocated a few moth ago. I've only become aware of this recently. The pipes were put in by the gas supply company on the wall of the drive and around a corner, which has been clobbered by tenant's cars. I've asked the gas people to put in a solid barrier, steel perhaps, to prevent gas interruption, explosion and death. No reply yet.

Property #2 has had new gas pipes in the street. There was a gas pipe under the front garden and this was dug up with a meter installed. I can't see the point as the property has a dozen units. Today I learned that there’s a plan to have all the gas meters in the garden, replacing the ones we have near the individual units. The reason is that the current gas meters are said to be non-compliant. The gas company says it cannot proceed without an OC vote.

Can anyone shed light on why the meters are non-compliant, and why they have to be moved?
