Gas and Electricity Bills when property is vacant

    Do you have a gas hot water system? If so then it would have been using gas to keep the water hot, which would be your cost to pay.

    This is true also.

    There is a principal involved, which is why I'd call the provider and ask them directly.

    If you end up paying it, it is tax deductible.

    I'd not muck about for such a small sum, but I'd also want the satisfaction of knowing just who should be paying the account when it is not in anyone's name. It's not in my name either.

    Don't risk some sort of blacklist. Make one call to clarify.
