Anyone going to FGG's meeting today in Sydney and interested in catching up please message me.

If anyone can't make it and has any questions please let me know and I will try to ask.

Me: "Hi everyone, my question is, what's NTA and should I buy at a discount?"

Heckler: "Go read the LIC thread on property chat"

    Recent presentation:
ASX - Request Rejected (note FGG performance against Index)

    Questions:
    1. Why can't all these big name fund Mgrs combined even manage to match the index?
    2. When can investors expect to receive a decent dividend. Current dividend also less than distribution from low fee MSCI World index ETF?
    3. Why has the LIC been trading below NTA?
    4. What the hell is NTA and why are there so many confused investors reading the Property Chat LIC thread?
    5. Why isn't Austing's Charity "Home brew for Distressed LIC Investors" included in your list of charities?

That should get the meeting off on a positive note:).

    I'm under the pump at the moment but these jokers deserve a heckle. Looks like they have given up on the status quo and intend to ;

    - Adjust Managers (lol)
    - Restructure Portfolio
    - Remove direct exposure to Asian funds

You'd need to be very keen on Philanthropy to stick with these losers! There are only a couple of Oz International focus Managers worth paying for (and that can be debated)...look at the motley crew assembled and the strategies. This is just Geoff Wilson feeling guilty for his years of rorting and deciding to get all Philanthropic later in life (the John D. Rockefeller syndrome) Flick!

I will do a countdown from question 5. Let's see if I even make it to 1.

When they ask, "who is this Austing?" I will stand up, say "well if you don't even know Austing you're useless to me", then storm out, pushing past people in an angry way.

We know the types of funds that make up FGG underperform as a whole even before fees.

Why would it be a good idea to buy such a huge spread?

That's after fees. In this scenario you only pay 1%.

Wow. I just has a 5 minute chat with Geoff Wilson. I was a bit awestruck. Asked him about WAM and it's premium, told him about this forum, my investment in FGG, WAM leaders fund. Made my visit worthwhile.

Got a prospectus for the microcap fund.

Good on you. Makes it all a bit more "real" doesnt it. Directors of ex20 companies are usually very approachable after the AGM. I went to SVW (Seven Group Holdings) and had a chat with Kerry Stokes for about 10 minutes last year. There was hardly anyone there. Similar experience with Will Culbert @ BKI meeting (but a lot of geriatrics in attendance).

LIC holders should make the effort to go along, to cement their commitment in a way. A shareholding is not just numbers on a screen, you'll get more of a feel for the people running the company. AFI, AUI, DUI is in Melbourne, ARG in Adelaide and BKI/MLT/SOL/WHF are all in Sydney.

There was quite a big crowd. A few of the mature variety but most of the rest were suits. Possibly hangers on to the entourage of the big fund managers. Quite a few of the WAM team, was trying to chat to one of the analysts from the prospectus but got Geoff Wilson instead. Seemed like a nice guy and willing to chat.
