Front door awning?

    Does anyone know of a good front door awning type and installer? That's strong and low maintenance?

    I have wooden double doors and they will rot over time if I don't install some awnings.

    Winds keeps blowing the rain sidewards so need something deep to cover everything, the doors sometimes gets soaked and expands making it hard to open and close.

    I'm not much of a painter but can't you just take the door off and paint it with enamel paint? to protect it against the weather? or that wouldn't work?
