So I'm going to this tomorrow night:

    http://parktrent.com.au/seminars/upcoming-seminars/

Apparently there is "no sell" etc etc.. Sure..

I think there angle will be offering their services as a BA if you need in the future.

Apparently the seminar is a market update etc.

Not far from work so I'll indulge my curiosity..

Have to be willing to always learn. Just cautious of being manipulated and taken advantage of.

Yes it is good to go to these. You may meet someone interesting in the crowd for example.

I went to one years ago before I started, I learnt a few things about offsets etc. They were trying to sell of the plan in Melbourne and qld at the time from memory. Went to leave and they tried to get my details I was only 19 and looked about 12. Told them I was under 18 and came with my parents before pointing at the guy I sat next to for the night. Good luck and hopefully you learn something new.

They normally give you some information and then sell you properties or their services.

These guys stink. ASIC is still monitoring them, if they use the word SMSF, ask them if they are licensed to provide SMSF advice.

They still spam me on the phone, even all the ASIC resources could not bring them down.....or stop their spruikers selling to smsf's.

    Enjoy the circus :)

    Cheers Ivan

    So I learned lots tonight:

    - benefits of off the plan
    - depreciation tax savings
    - why I should invest now before negative gearing is grandfathered
    - rental guarantees
    - how Melton west house and land packages are a great investment
    - apartment OTP stock in Cairnlea (burnside)
    - varsity lakes Gold Coast apartment stock
    - property always goes up
    - apparently I can double my Melton west property in 7-10 years
    - how the outer east of melb is booming and packenham is the place to buy

The Mrs won the bottle of wine so we didn't come away totally empty handed..

Lol I expressed my interest in attending one of Park Trent's seminars a couple yrs back and I'll give them one thing - they are bloody persistent little buggers. Hounded me every other night, about new seminars and free session for a property professional to come to my home and show me the possibilities haha

    Haha hell no..
Didn't even wait for the free party pies at the end and dodged the lady with the clipboard..

The most concerning part which has left me somewhat angry, was that the presenter said she is a licensed financial planner. Yet she is pushing developer stock in the back wash middle of nowhere.. Very shocking that someone with such a qualification could sell out to that extent.. I was very concerned for the 1000's of people who attend events such as these.. Terrible.

Interesting about Financial Planner - did you get her name, maybe do a search and find out if it is true.

Were they talking about SMSFs at all?

Ask them to show you how its doubled in the last 7 years......

As for Pakenham it is unfortunately not achieving the right growth if any.

I would be interested in seeing what Melton properties they are offering you to buy . I live in Melton and have a pretty good idea on prices in Melton I would be willing to have a look over it for you and make sure you arnt paying over the price for the deal . I got lured in to a deal like this once everything sounds good on a glossy brochure I relied on the buyers agent to know his stuf I lost a fu**ing **** load I would hate to see some one else get ripped of I don't know the guys or havnt herd much of them so I can't be the judge of that . I do know double in 7 years out here I feel is a big statement have you seen how much land is out here ? With all the new land and housing Estates going up year after year you can buy a new house every year for the same price as last year it seems they are slowly rising but not booming . Becafull the free coffees and biskets can be quite expensive I hope you make the right disisions , education 1st is the key
