    Hello,

There is a lot of chat here about the benefits of franking credits. I buy based on this and have been doing so using Norgate Premium Data. They had a list of companies paying franking credits but no longer support it.

There is a site HERE that is quite good but I don't think they all are listed.

Wondering if anyone who's where I can find a comprehensive list of companies paying franking credits please?

Tax benefits are only one aspect of an investment choice.

OT but interesting point and spot on, it's one aspect and using Norgate Premium Data may have tweaked as to what else I do :)

Comsec data? Even if you don't use Comsec, you could sign up for a free account to get access to their data (preferably on one of the $xxx free brokerage deals).

    Regards,

Jason, didn't think to even look there.

I've had a Comsec account for years but never use it. Will have a look.

    Thanks.

Companies don't pay franking credits. Ever. Because it's impossible.

Companies either pay full tax on their dividend distributions (100% franked).. or some tax (x% franked) or no tax.

A franking credit is something that a shareholder receives when the dividend distributions are paid. The shareholder can claim a franking credit against tax payable when they submit their tax return.

Thanks for correcting my words Phase2 and nothing to do with a list. Looks like it's not available.

    Cheers.

Had a quick look and franking level is available in Commsec's Stock Screener and Company Comparison tools.

    Regards,

I wasn't correcting your words. Your original post read as though you understood the benefits of FC's but it didn't read as though you understood what they really are. I figured I'd just clarify that, especially for others viewing the thread that might not know either.

Morningstar also have a free subscription. You don't get a list that shows %franked like Commsec, but you can sort based on yield / etc and then just click on whichever company you like the look of and check the dividend history.

Thanks for the screenshot. Newbie question - how can you get 150% franking %??

That's what I was thinking. Typo? marketindex gives a franking level of 50% to KAT

Thanks. I wasn't thinking about the franked dividend arrangement when I wrote it, just about a list :)

Same here and I noticed in the 371 stocks there were a couple with negative franking too. Seems odd :)

You could always verify against marketindex data which I believe is reliable.
