    Hi all,

I just got an email from my PM

"Your tenant has made a request to have Foxtel installed.

Please can you advise if this is acceptable with you."

This is my first tenanted IP so not very sure. They just rented out the property last Tue & for a year. Whose responsibility is it normally to pay for the installation & monthly fees?

Would you say yes if you had to pay for it? What would be the consequences if I said no, given they are locked in for a year?

    Thanks.

You just need to approve the install of the outlet and roof satellite dish (satellite) or wall mount box (HFC cable).

Tenant pays all costs for install and ongoing.

PM sends tenant a letter confirming same and that they are responsible for all costs.

I have done this plenty of times it not a problem

Thanks Dave, I've replied back saying I assumed this is going to be at tenant's cost & if the PM's only looking to get permission.

They just replied yes, so all good.

They usually have to enter a 12 or 24 month contract with Foxtel. They may want to stay longer if they're committed to a pay tv service.

Foxtel offer no contract packages now in order to compete with other providers.

    HI Tajid,
Suggest you get an installation diagram which you approve before they start . You need to be in charge of where they install the rotten thing. They damage air vents and put unsightly pipes where ever they want. Especially on Heritage houses..
    I hope this helps.
