    Hi all,
A sheepish long time lurker here who's finally taken the plunge in signing up.
Just wanted to say a big thank you to everyone who's ever posted in the past. Lots of food for thought and I really enjoyed some of the humour. Hope I will have something interesting/worthwhile to contribute too going forward.

A little about me: I have a couple of mortgaged investment properties with a plan to purchase my dream PPOR once I have saved enough. I'm not a very proactive or planned out investor and just kind of goes where circumstances and opportunities take me. It's freakish times at the moment, so I am just bobbing in the currents like most, hoping to make it to the rainbow part and not drown.
    Best to all,
    Hemi

That's a rather informal way to respond to a formal welcome. What a slap in the face! ;-)

    (Welcome BTW)

Ah, sorry Y-man! No, not a typo. Unfortunately just my clumsy attempt to play on your name and the general "thanks man" shout out (so to contrast to the use of "formally"). Didn't think that one through and just translated across terribly doh.

So kindly allow me to do over in thanking you (and geoffw, Property Twins and Jess) for your lovely warm welcomes.
I am very excited to be part of the group :D

...there was supposed to be a thumbs up symbol at the end of that sentence that didn't show up!

So are you a Hemi Inline 6 or V8?

Either way, we look forward to your contributions in what is arguably one of the single most important threads on PropertyChat

I'll add my welcome too. We've also not been particularly proactive investors, and often on the forum, I feel like a babe in the woods amongst some very serious investors.

But our method has worked, and should allow us to live comfortably without having to rely on the pension. That is what we were aiming for and between our efforts, plenty of elbow grease and hard work renovating and the magic of time, we are happy enough (assuming things return to something close to "normal" after this current upheaval).

Hemi 6 if I had to chose
Thanks for pointing me in that direction Y-man (this forum has the best of everything here!) But I'm afraid I'm about to disappoint and confess my name is actually more to do with an old nickname than from my love of cars (though I know and appreciate that engine reference). Sorry man :p

Thanks for the welcome Wylie :) And that's what I find awesome about this forum - the fact that there's something here to learn or take away for every type of property investor out there. It's great stuff.

Regretfully not Rolf. Just a little old nickname than a Chrysler Valiant. Sorry to disappoint :D

Fake it till you make it.

Just randomly mention "commodore" and "burnouts" in your post and people like @datto will be your best mate.
