Would love my future daughter to turn out with even half her brains and resolve.

Haven’t watched the video - but I bought my first place at 21, so do I win?

    ;)
It reminds me of that other thread - the untold parts of the stories:
Headline “i bought my first place at 21”,
Reality: “ FHBG, 95% +LMI loan, 2 bed townhouse in low socioeconomic area” ;)

Nothing controversial about that, we all gotta start somewhere. :)

My first place i was just a little short for the deposit so my parents asked me to put a proposal forward to them for the loan of the remaining deposit. I paid them back their money plus with interest!

"I Iearnt a lot through this process"

There in lies her success, she made a start and followed the process.

Starting out on the journey (saving a deposit) is the key to the front door.

Very informative video. It really made sense.

All of a sudden I feel like watching some pole dancing.

People lining up for iPhone X. Some queued for days. WHY?

Bless her parents for instilling good values on her from a young age, and letting her stay in the house. They definitely contributed to her success to a large extent.

This is great, I’ve shared it with my son. He’s only 10yo but is adamant that he wants to buy an apartment with me in his teens. He even asks to read investment books and YPI magazine as bedtime reading together!

Woah... this is interesting. What spurred his interest at age 10 (or earlier) in wanting to buy an apartment? YIP for bedtime reading? My curiosity is truly piqued! How did he get this way? :) Do tell!

That's fantastic. My 9yo is always keen to hear investment stories and numbers behind it (guess maths come easy for him)... he appreciates what his parents have been doing to buffer the future.

I guess most of them don't work or took leave to queue for days. I just cannot understand why...queueing for vacant lots i can understand.

he has always been a maths whiz and loves anything about money. I only started my property investing last year, but he is fascinated by the numbers and the concept of passive income. I involve him a lot, talk about the loans, the costs, and the rent that is paid. also earlier this year my hubby-to-be bought the board game "Cash Flow" and for a few months my son was obsessed with it. he even plays it on his own, choosing good shares and properties to buy. for his 10th birthday I gave him presents, but also $100 cash that he had to invest. he has one Microsoft share that has gone up about 12% in value and has paid dividends twice, and some healthscope shares that have dropped a lot, but that just made him buy more!!

so I mentioned casually about 6 months ago that maybe he could save up and we could buy a property together when he is a teenager, and he has been talking about it ever since. even invests his pocketmoney in acorns.
