The night she stayed at my house, she ate as much Spag Bog as the rest of us combined. I put tons of lean meat in it, too.

I think Krispy Cremes are disgusting. The after taste put me off Forever. I only tried one (quarter) because someone at work was ramming them down our throats. I dont usually allow anyone to bully me but this little walking (waddling) diabetes machine just doesn't give up.

    Yes.... I'm a capable eater :)

With meat, sometimes I have a lot but sometimes I go for quite a while without.
Recently I had some amazing wasabi beef from a Japanese restaurant so I tried to replicate at home. Did really well....

I agree - and swear often to go "dry" - but then evening falls, the fire is lit, I'm cooking dinner - and a red wine just simply must be poured

The aftertaste is almost "chemical" - kinda tasted like the smell of nailpolish. Nothing beats home made sweet-anything

Three meals a day. Who do you think made up that garbage? Answer that question and think about the implications.

On the timescale of human evolution our diets have completely changed in a short time. Obviously our bodies can not adjust that fast, evolution takes 1000s of years.

Humans generally need to eat less. Look at the obesity / diabetes issues in the Western world if you need evidence.

We also need to eat better food. Crispy Creams, milk chocolate, Maccas; I'm sorry to say that processed food high in preservatives is bad for you.

Exercise is very important. Who has felt better after doing exercise? The type of exercise is important and I'd tend to include muscle building / retaining exercises and then add high intensity workouts as well. Avoid being sedintary and go for a regular walk.

In summary, eat less, only when you're hungry and fast every now and then. Eat a wide range of real food, not something out of a packet. Everything in moderation but avoid bad carbohydrates and bad proteins. Be active and exercise by strengthening your muscles and doing some high intensity aerobic workouts.

We have one life and we should live it. These rules can be broken but remember there are consequences.

I bought this from Woolies because it was $3.49 - less than half price. I made myself a bowl. OMG!! I detect a sh#tload of sugar. I think that's terrible. I'm not going to eat the rest.... 15365727906242839808638997486155.jpg 15365728245146112332855806557372.jpg

    That's 23 percent sugar @Gockie ! Every fourth spoon...

I remember trying to find a non-sugar laden cereal when I gave up sugar....it's tough going.

The only thing I found was rolled oats with fresh fruit.

Rolled oats have very little sugar. But obviously fresh fruit does, so presumably it's refined sugar that you're concerned about, and not total sugar.

    Weetbix has about 3% sugar.

Keep it for dessert. lol. Seriously, I always check the pack.

Overnight oats for me. I put around half a cup of oats in a jar, top with full cream milk then microwave for a minute. Stir in about 2 tablespoons of full fat plain greek youghurt. Then put on the lid and in the fridge overnight. Before I eat it I microwave again for a minute. It's nice and creamy and I find I don't need to add anything.

I would check the pack too usually, but sadly this time I didn't.
I never got into the habit of oats or weetbix etc and I never will....
Happy to eat Juk/Congee (rice porridge) all day long though.

Sorry, yes it's added refined sugar.

Sugar in whole fruit doesn't count as it's backed up by a ton of fibre.

The research that I read all seemed to point at fibre being critical for slowing the liver's processing of sugar down. Which gives it time to process it harmlessly.

All of which gives another huge red cross of doom to @Rolf Latham s aforementioned donut of death....

Excess sugar is probably not the only issue with processed foods.
The closer you get to the raw ingredients the better.

Fruit has other compounds which benefit blood sugar. For example, apples has pectin, which buffers the absorption of sugar from the apple.
