One of the unpleasant and increasingly unavoidable aspects of life is to fix up what the tradie left behind.. Attach are two photos of the handy work the Telstra tradie left.

The tradie wound a bit of PVC tape round the junction box and left the screws and lid seal out...

Have any way of forwarding photos to their supervisor or something?

When my house got tiled, not only did they leave all the boxes the tiles came in and the packaging of tools/products they used, but also left 4 days worth of their lunch rubbish too.

Common decency to tidy up after yourself, especially if they want repeat business.

How many of the other screw tabs are broken, top right is clearly broken in the second image?

Do you have the screws and lid seal? Did said "tradie" just toss them on the ground and tape it up or were they never there in the first place?

Will the old brittle junction box even go back together and remain watertight sans electrical tape? It doesn't appear to be correctly attached to the wall either.

Looks like it needs a new junction box.

The lid seal and the screws are strewn around the site. I am not touching the evidence. :(

It can become watertight if the lid and seal are attached to the box properly. However, the box has broken off at the attachment and should be repaired or replaced.

Lazy work by the Comms Tech then, get them back with a new junction box thrown in.

I have notified Telstra and they are indignant... high ethics... procedures in place... will not go unnoticed... But, 'you' are not my direct customer and may not call ... even though it's Telstra infrastructure..

Notifed both TPG and Southern Phone of the problem. Let's see what actions they take...

I am waiting for anyone of either Telstra, TPG or Southern Phone to ask for the photos and take action to fix the junction box. All three have been contacted.

Lunch rubbish seems de rigueur practic of tradie when they have spent days at a job.

In anticipation of the run around, it's sometimes worthwhile sending off a complaint to Fair Trading or equivalent.

Thanks for the empathy! TPG seems to be considering the issues in a professional manner. I will keep it in mind about the fall-back to Fair Trading. Ultimately, there is no way that Telstra is leaving a junction box unfixed attached to my house!

It might be a small thing, but annoying none the less.
You would think they would fix it asap, but nothing surprises me these days.

We had floating floor installed by an installer recommended to us from a well known father and son carpet place who were installing our carpet.
The back veranda was covered in Saw Dust and off cuts, Cigarette butts on the lawn and lunch rubbish placed in the green waste bin as the general waste bin was one step further away.

An trying to get him to fix poor installation was a nightmare.

This seems to be the norm in SA - I've never had a tradie not leave the rubbish/offcuts.
