Just fly business class on Emirates, once the plane gets too 40,000 walk down the A380 Airbus Lounge and all the food you want

    A380 Airbus' lounge
It was not like that a few weeks ago in Emirates A380 Business class when i flew back into Brisbane..There were only 2 Arabic "Men" in the business class section who were in charge of all the stunning well dressed Ladies and ran the entire set-up ..That's the good part about the sky bar down the back of buniness class you get too watch everything that happens as all the staff come from that section, and you can eat anddrink till you drop..

Yes it's a special place, they let one drink eat all you want in the sky bar,and one of the few places that takes you away from the realities of the world plus the business people that sit next too you and talk about their life--on the blue highway, worth every cent..

    Just resurrecting this thread.

Obviously best is subjective but google says diffferent things.

Is emirates and etihad the best first class?
    Some say its singapore

    Are these the top 3?

On paper emirates and etihad seem to be far fsr better

Emirates are definitely a gold medal contender.... their whole travel experience is better than any of the western airlines I've flown with. From the ground service to the lounge & in the air. I can't fault them in any area.

Need to be selective otherwise stick to cattle class
    Qantas lift your game:(

Often makes a huge difference. As in the difference between just a big seat or a pod

Depends which routes/class you will fly and if your credit card earns points on particular program

    General rule if thumb...

If flying a few times economy domestic/international per yr, you won't accrue much status credits so just go with whichever airline has the cheapest/best route.

If flying bus/first, join and accrue points/status to Qantas for oneworld carriers and Singapore Air for Star Alliance.

Well its Cattle Class for our family flight to Italy tomorrow night.
Won't bother me too much, after working 7 days a week since New Years day (except for 2 days off) I'm looking forward to getting onboard just to have more than 6 hours sleep before the alarm goes off to get back up again.

i just flew malaysia airlines business to thailand after most of the times favouring emirates and other asian airlines

they're redesigned their seats and their menu is now designed by "masterchef winner last year - diana chan" so can see the taste is very much different and also of a very high standard

i think they're ok for what they deliver on price

If you are travelling with a family member I would suggest Virgin Australia
After only a few joint flights (crediting the flights to you) you will have Gold membership
Virgin has a lower threshold than Qantas and the family pooling can reduce the flights by half
On arrival in Australia you can use the lounge (along with a guest) which you can't do with Qantas gold
