Looking to brighten up our home for a guest visit in June with some colourful pot flowers. Any recommendation and where is the best place to buy them? I have seen nothing much from Flower Power except for poppies

If you are talking about flowering plants in pots, Bunnings would be your best bet. Not as much choice in winter but there should be some.

The best winter-flowering shrubs for Sydney gardens | Flower Power

Winter flowers can be a bit stubborn if they are new plants they may not be mature enough to flower this year. Banksia are terrific if you own a hedger and have no allergies. Otherwise they are bloody horrid and drop mess everywhere when the parrots eat the whole thing. Maybe the visitors may like the parrots like lorikeets. They make a bloody racket but look good.

Along a similar line to Poppies but we have had success with Violas as something to consider with bursts of various colour.
