    Thanks for the info people!

What about Cupania st and Marara st? They aren't directly in the flood zone but they're adjacent to the ones that are (both end of the street). Would this raise concerns and indirectly affect prices on these st

Well, if the area is cut off due to the flood on the main roads, then you / the tenant will be unable to go anywhere during the flooding time ?

My suggestion is to stay away from that suburb, there are other cheaper suburbs to invest that is flood free, such as... Park Ridge in Logan area.

I bought there an it is flood free.

That's a bit of a concern, I thought it was almost set in stone.
Anyone got any stories of this happening and getting stuck?

That would suck balls if you were basing your plans on the advice from council and they changed their mind. Not the 1st time that's happened though I'm sure.

True. Although from what I understand, usually it isn't a major change. Just minor adjustments. Maybe a good reason to stay well clear of the overlay zones. A least a few blocks or even a street away.

Ha. Yep. No good can come from having one of those massive overlays through the sweet spot of the back of your block.

I think the post i referred to earlier was someone who was thinking of buying an IP in QLD (maybe Logan area from memory) that had the overlay just running into the property near the boundary. He was asking if was going to be a problem as it was a highset. Problem was even though it was only just coming in a few metres the insurance would have a problem with it and also future buyers would too. I think it was selling at a discount because of that but also meant that when on selling later on he would also have to sell at a discount. :(
