Well, given your nick, it seems you @Scott No Mates and I could be kindred spirits if that holds true.

    :D

It's ****** freezing out there - snow on the Barringtons - which means I'm off to do some painting instead of planting out my massively sprouting table grape vines. They've been inside, in their pots, for 2 weeks now, and are nearly climbing out the kitchen window

Welcome to my world. I don't think it has got to double digits and has been effectively below zero all day probably. And I'm not game to look.

I don't mind it cold, but windy or wet combined make it unpleasant.

Newcy was about 14⁰ when you posted this at 11 am..
Canberra had a maximum of 7.3⁰ today. 5.5⁰ at 11 am.

Sorry, I don't accept that Newcy was cold :-(

Did you feel that wind! The "feels like" temp hovered between 6-7 outside ... bit crispy chicken for me

    p.s. It's Newy (no 'c') ... or Newie for the posh ones ... if you're going to be a local ... ;)

My apologies for the bad characterisation.

"Feels like" I don't think got above zero here today. Which is why we're going to be moving.

    Where to retire? [NSW]

It's around 23 degrees here now in Karumba. Average daytime temperatures for the coming week around 30. Ahh....Bliss!

Down at the athletics track with my son this morning so he could do some hurdles training.

Air temp 13C, BOM reported feels like 2C - the wind was bitterly cold and quite strong, but at least it was nice-ish in the sun.

Completed the 2021 census this afternoon.

Fingers crossed I'll still be around on 10 August.

Thursday's are now declared cadaver day (biomed science student) ... vegetarian for dinner on Thursday's until further notice ... fortunately bacon is considered a vegetable in our house

A member of my household declared the same but I overruled myself.

A vegetarian meal for us is pizza as I don't consider bacon and pepperoni to be real meat. Neither is cheese.

Things are getting really serious when QLD has cancelled a public holiday and the Ekka.

Ekka | Royal Queensland Show 2021 - Cancelled

Bloody heck. It means rescheduling the rostered days off days for the extra-extra-long weekend.
