    What did you get SatayKing?

I have a growing collection of SolidTeknics Australian wrought iron and non-nickel stainless cookware.

Seasoning is definitely something you do with good ventilation!

With the tree down over powerlines this morning - my local burger place is without power - or at least it was at 8:30am and I haven't seen any changes to the power status on the Ausgrid website.

If the power doesn't get restored by lunchtime where am I going to get my Monday burger from?

The same @Simon Hampel. Two 26cm skillets and a 30cm pan. Good quality product in my view and not outrageous price wise. Will certainly outlast other products.

Same concept to buying high end knives like Wusthof instead of Kmart brands.

You'll need to construct a rocket stove and cook your own. Should be plenty of wood around I gather.

Not yet - still working on the fit out - although they'll be behind schedule after today's power outage.

Will likely even outlast your house.

Image from Facebook where someone lost their house in the recent bushfires - only thing salvageable was their stack of Solidteknic's pans! Going to require quite a lot of recovery work, but theoretically should be able to resurrect them!

In case you haven't seen it, there's an official Facebook group if you're looking for inspiration and tips: Security Check Required

I have the 18", 26" and 30" which all get used regularly - I also have a 28" wok but no good wok burner, so I find it a bit frustrating to use. I also recently got the 4.5L Noni with skillet lid.

As to Facebook I'm a troglodyte. Never had an account.

My hairdresser sold her business to someone who now charges $55 to spend 10 minutes trimming my hair. I asked another local business today, and they charge $87. At this rate, I will be able to create my own Dreadlocks.

    Bureaucracy in its many guises.

I had made an appointment with the GP for yesterday. I haven't bothered to turn on my phone or check emails for the last couple of days. When I checked in the young receptionist told me I hadn't answered her calls to confirm the appointment. Gently told her as I made the appointment I was capable of remembering it so phone calls were unnecessary. But, but, but.......... Amazing how some assume everybody is tied to a phone all the time and systems also assume that too.

As well, the surgery is undertaking an upgrade of patient details. So I dutifully filled in most of the form apart from my Medicare and Health fund details.

Big sigh from me when I was informed I had forgotten to compete those sections of the forms. No I hadn't forgotten. The surgery already has my Medicare details and I wasn't being admitted to hospital any time soon so my health fund details weren't required. In fact a GP surgery doesn't need that particular information, only the admitting institution does - if I am admitted to a private hospital or I elect to be admitted as a private patient in a pubic hospital.

But it's on a form you see so the expectation is....

Anyways if I carried around all the bloody cards I'm expected to, each time I sat down I'd have a 10 cm lean to the left.

You have seen how he cuts the hedge in the front yard (on a slope) He's not going anywhere near me with his chainsaw, either.
