Not only does nobody read the Courier Mail it’s no good for household jobs like window cleaning any more because the latex ink they use in the new printers is water repellent :p

So those stories about the Courier Mail being only suitable for toilet paper aren't even true any more?

I still buy my local rag once a week - lose change and usually only do the crossword - but do like to keep the diligent and genuine journalists funded ... and it's good for weed suppression under the mulch in the garden

Yes, I understand that you New Zealanders had a referendum recently. Weed suppression is still a thing.

What, the Murdoch journalists? I prefer the independent ones who were sacked.

Got a few Wakely winners on our team - and the one that sparked the Church abuse enquiry years ago - they're a pretty dog-with-bone bunch

Sorry fellas but I will never put newspaper ink against my skin, especially in the delicate places.

Are any journos still "on staff". I was under the impression all journos were sacked and they each write independently and submit their articles to each company.

Not at or paper ... sure they get articles from elsewhere, but the core local issues are still reported by core local journalists

Going to be without power for up to 7 hours tomorrow while they work on lines nearby ... need to work out how to spend my time most productively.

At least it's not going to be stinking hot.

Took advantage of the extended power outage today to clean out about 5 years worth of dust from my unRAID file server and fix some airflow issues

... but ran out of canned air before I finished everything I wanted to clean :( #fwp
