I was chatting with a colleague earlier this afternoon, she advised that she's being put out to pasture (or made redundant again) at the end of next week. She's being paid a month's salary as well.

She went to Centrelink to find out how to claim jobseeker as she still wants to work for another couple of years. They told her, "Err sorry luv, you don't qualify for Jobseeker but you are eligble for the pension".

I thought that there was no mandated retirement age (BTW, she's a spring chook at 71).

Once you've reached retirement age, you're no longer eligible for Jobkeeper or Jobseeker. The age has been increasing, but at 71, there's no question.

I decided to try a different brand coffee pod on sale,

bought it, took it home, opened it, realised they are double shots/larger pods and dont fit my machine,

I cant return it because its opened, (why do I know I cant return it? because I did this is the 3rd time ive done it in 3 years)

I have to use them in my drip now which uses about 3 pods per cup!

My microwave really smells like scallops (not potato but the fish kind) left out to rot... tried baking soda, and it doesn't seem to help. How do I get rid of the smell?

Just seems like a waste to toss it though, as it works otherwise.

That would be my suggestion too. Ours is 10yrs +, time for a change.

    I don't know. It's listed as a product delay.

Try a mug half filled with white vinegar, zapped for a few minutes until most of the vinegar has boiled out then let the residue sit on the walls for 10 or 15 mins. Then wipe down.

I've been alternating bicarb and vinegar. I just smelt the bicarb water, and it smells like the off scallops. I guess it has soaked up the smell....
The microwave smells significantly better :)

I was always told if you had a plastic lunchbox that smells bad, to wet newspaper, scrunch it up and put it in the box and leave it there for a day or more. Maybe do that to the microwave?
