So Christmas has finished. We put our Christmas tree away two days ago. In some traditions, last Sunday (6 January) was Christmas Day. In other traditions, it's the day of the three kings, the day they exchange gifts.

    And now the dilemma.

Which brand of hot cross buns do I buy?

You are too early. There's Lunar new year to celebrate next.

But to answer your question, when it comes to hot cross buns, the Woolies mocha ones are the best.

Forgive me for being non inclusive.

Those mocha ones look good, but they're unavailable according to your post. Aldi ones are available now.

My first world problem at the moment - our hot water system has stopped working. So no hot showers. Heating up water on the stove to add to the bath. Literally a *first world* "problem" :D

Tell that to the tribunal - you slack landlord! Your tenants can't suffer the injustice of cold showers but as a LL you can have a coldie or two and no-one to whinge to.

Hubby has been back at work for a week so I handed him a note on Saturday with the dates for the next Qld school holidays so he can apply for them. @TAJ , how cold is it up on the mountains behind you in April? I'm thinking of camping along Waterfall way somewhere.

For a week I had to tape a plastic bag around my 85 year old father in law's upper leg every day for his shower (where they took a skin graft).

Getting rather too close to the old fellas dangly for my liking

Hubby worked out how many actual physical days he has to work until retirement ... number of weeks at 5 days each - less annual leave - less long service leave - less public holidays = just over 200 ... not sure whether to be excited or scared

That's a lot of lunches with girlfriends I gotta squeeze in

Bought a new pair of scissors - they come sealed in a blister pack.

Now I need to buy a new pair of scissors to cut open the blister pack.

But those new scissors will come in a blister pack too.

So I will need to buy a new pair of scissors to cut open that blister pack to get the scissors to cut open the blister pack containing the pair of scissors I originally bought.

    Blister packs are evil!

Coffee in Paris and Bruges is both ridiculously expensive, and not particularly good! 4 euro for a crap coffee!

    Cheers,

Was basically no bacon anywhere in Germany either, which was really odd given the amount of pork they have (and we had :))

I'm concerned that the EU has been overrun by 14 year olds with the state of the negotiations over product names eg. Fetta or Prosecco etc having been used here for donkey's years but now they want to call them 'Fetta like' or 'Prosecco like'.

Wouldn't a dummy call these things 'Australian Fetta', 'Australian Prosecco' or if they were into the marketing "Pr-Aus-secco", "Pr-Aus-scuitto" or the like.

Kids are over-using the work 'like', why shouldn't the EU find it's own word 'like' like.

Like this if you 'like' it

    What's not to like, bro?

Hmm, you got your work cut out for you there. Maybe next time pack a tiny gnome and equally small hammer.
