Going into 2019 I'm trying to budget actively.

Until now I've largely been budgeting passively in that I record and categorise my expenses and am fully aware of where every cent goes, but as long as the bottom line is within comfort levels, I've never taken any action.

Now I'm actively working on lowering my expenses and one of the most challenging to live with is a daily work food budget of $11.50, including coffee. In Chatswood this is turning out to be quite an interesting challenge; I used to regualrly splurge on Kreta Ayer har mee + a soy latte on my way back to the office, but at $21 total that's out of the question now (unless I bring food from home and carry forward one day's budget to the next.)

Thankfully there's good Banh Mi (vietnamese pork roll) in Westfield (Vina Bakehouse) for just $6.50 :p

Had a lot of trouble deciding on what colour the new 4WD to be, and whether to have a steel or alloy bullbar.
Missus, trying to decide on casual or FT employment.
Got the option of both, to many choices.....

Wrapping one's damaged knee in cling wrap to stop the wound getting wet while having a shower.

No, there will be no photos (ASX: PIC) so you'll have to take my word for it.

How is it currently dressed (the wound, not the person)? Can you change it to waterproof wound dressing?

I'm feeling the sluggish at work after the holiday period.
Cheering myself up by planning the next annual leave but I don't have much days left

I have a spreadsheet with coloured graph that I use to plot my projected leave balance ( buckets of annual, long-service and purchased leave ).

    I take 9 weeks of leave a year :D

A waterproof dressing but was advised to provide a little more protection. It's no big deal really but thank goodness for automatic transmissions!

I looked at my non-existent spreadsheet. It reveals I have 365 days per year in leave. I'm gonna take it now. :D:D

I have spreadsheet too now :D
I'm under fixed term contract waiting to be permanent, so I can't buy leave until end of year :(
My solution was to "buy" my own leave by sending money regularly to a hidden account... so when I take unpaid leave, I pay myself the difference

Joking aside, that's some inspirational stuff. Has helped me clarify my goals on an otherwise murky day. Cheers :D

I'm looking forward to the Easter-Anzac day period. They are really close this year.

Huawei Mate 20 Pro. I used to be a gadget geek until I got the Mate 10 Pro, suddenly I've stopped buying new gear every few months. Had it for a year now and it still has ~70% battery left when I plug it in at night :)

I'm not. Just as I can't stand these set of school holidays. Here in my home town we are inundated with Sydneysiders. Can't wait for February. We have a small reprieve then have to endure the influx of holiday makers again come April.
Thankfully less frequent the area over the winter months and we get our town back!

Huawei have had some bad press lately with spying rumours. I'm a bit wary of them now.

iPhones are nice, but I think they are overpriced - phones with similar features cost less.

Maybe a 4th trip to the Himalayas in October. Maybe Xmas in UK. Maybe Canada / Alaska at some point too. Maybe a cycling trip in Greece or Bosnia in 2020. NZ end of 2020 ( Cycling and hiking ).

Have a 5th trip to Himalayas in my mind also, although probably 2022.

    Nothing booked yet.
