This belongs in First World problems 2019.
The local Thai eatery across the street from my office did a price hike. With the new year, instead of 2 choices with rice for x price, its now 1 choice for x price. Sneaky...

    Food is still great though.
Ps. I think the plate size difference between a small and regular serve is huge.... Regular is way too much, and small seems a lot smaller. $1 difference. ($8.50 vs $9.50 in case you are wondering.)

I haven't been out for a coffee yet or to the fish shop but I'm expecting my brew to increase over the $4 mark and fish and chips up another 5-10% (not a first world problem yet).

    @Simon Hampel / @geoffw / @wylie - time to lock down this thread and start on 2019 - thanks @Gockie

    My FWP.

Anybody could have started this thread. But we mods have been asked to start a new one for them.

    *Sigh*

It could have been a new year's resolution thread or someone banging on about labor's mooted changes to Negative Gearing and CGT increases. Just what we need in a cooling property cycle.

But this is the Living Room forum. This is a place to get away from property related issues :)

Those nice big overseas holidays are just getting more and more expensive .
Another year like last year and the Aussie will be in the low 60s , and its certainly of to a flying start on the first couple of days...

Wanted to raid the charity snacks table at work but only have Chilean pesos in my wallet after returning from South America on Sunday.

If you left pesos in the bottle, would anyone notice?

    True.

It could have come from anybody in the office who has recently been to Chile.

Went to the office today, it’s like a zombie land. My favorite coffee shop is still close, almost no one in the office :(
    Also 42 degrees tomorrow.

The AUD did drop into peso territory today so maybe people wouldn’t notice.

... or I could just split the 2018 thread at the first post after Jan 1st and then merge the two 2019 threads together - thus making a heap of earlier posts in the thread make no sense :p
