How do hosts treat people on Airbnb for the first time?

My wife used Airbnb for the first time last weekend, without a lot of notice, and had trouble getting a place to accept her. She has previously travelled with me a number of times, and this is the first time she has travelled in her name. It took her some time to find a place to accept her, as she didn't have any reviews - in the end they only did so when I put a reference to my reviews that she found anywhere at all. The instant booking places were booked.

I had instant booking on mine so anyone who meet Airbnb's criteria (verifications etc) can book it.

I have one of my places on Instant Book and one not. I have knocked back a few people with no reviews, but they tend to be youngsters.

I dont usually knock them back. A decent % of my bookings are 1st timers. Im
A bit wary of young males, but i think ive only declined one. Worst i have had is dirty dishes from them.

Was only this morning i was trying to help first time oldies scan their id
