First Home Buyer Hospitalised With Acute Avocado Deficiency

After buying when the market is at its highest and the interest rates are at their lowest, a Sydney man collapsed this morning on his way to work – not because of the impending financial ruin that will befall him if interest rates go up, but because of an acute avocado deficiency.

William Cornwall, a 29-year-old working in the fast-paced financial sector, told doctors he’s been going without the popular stone fruit for years now in an effort to put together a meagre deposit for a Darlinghurst studio apartment.

Grow avocado in the backyard may be the solution...but get a yard first.
BTW, my daughter just made salmon and avocado sushi. Tasty.

He was in a private ward & couldn't afford avocado? Geez! Bananas are over $4/kg at present.

    :D - hillarious.

I buy my avo's from Woolies "odd fellas" selection - 8 for $6 - simply because they are not considered a pretty shape or slightly undersized.

But that would be uncool for a FHB ;)

You must have tried to turn it into a dairy-free chocolate mousse dessert. I tried this once and was foolishly optimistic about the promise of a cocoa-flavoured avocado concoction. This remains a very memorable day in my life and not in a good way. Inedible. Completely inedible. Nasty texture and nasty flavour.

It's the salt and cracked black pepper that makes avocado shine. Avocado on toast or crackers of your choosing (with salt and cracked pepper). Do try it :).

As the spouse of a Mexican, I wouldn't survive if I didn't like it. Real Mexican guacamole especially is beautiful.

I wouldn't know as I can't afford to buy avocado, especially the smashed variety, and I can afford to buy a property either :).

I think I was about 30 when I tasted my first avocado....didn't seem to have suffered any ill-effects from the deficiency.

Love a really nice "gwock" on top of Mexican food these days.

Maybe this bloke needs a "safe space"?

Bananas are like $1.50 a kg here, and about a million times tastier than avo will ever be.
